OK so let’s chat about live streaming. We have all seen livestreams in one form or another, we may have even used them on facebook or Instagram. But very few of us have thought about the possibility of live streaming our wedding, and with good reason. To make it look and sound great can take a lot of time and effort that most of us just don’t have the time - alongside all the other planning - to put in! There are a few major benefits to live streaming your wedding though, let’s talk about them.

So, why live stream your wedding? These days almost all of us have family and friends that live overseas or even just in other parts of the country but may not be able to make it to the wedding. That’s not to say that they don’t want to be there, but for some the financial outlay to come from the other side of the world can put too much stress on them and their bank accounts. Live streaming is an amazing way to have them part of your day, celebrating with you and your partner without being there in person. They are able to comment their love and well wishes which you are then able to look back on after the special day.

Guest limitations! It’s a simple fact that sometimes we just can’t invite every person that we want and some times, there are people that we don’t really want at the wedding, but they really want to be part of the day as well. I know that sounds blunt but I’m sure you get where I’m coming from. Having the wedding available on livestream means that they are able to ‘be-there’ without actually being there. I should also mention, having a live stream is a great way for other guests, no matter their location, that RSVP ‘no’ to still be able to be apart of your special day.

Watching back on the day. With live streaming you can also have the stream recorded and saved so you can look back on it in the future. Let’s be fair, if you’re hiring a live stream operator and a videographer the cost is going to be high. We would suggest hiring a live stream operator and asking them to record the stream as well. Doing that keeps the cost down and means you get a beautiful video at the end that you can look back on for years to come.

What if there is no internet at the venue or it is outdoors? There are many ways to run a live stream and obviously all of them require an internet connection. Thankfully as long as there is at least a 3G connection on a wifi hotspot or mobile broadband modem then it can be done! Most live stream operators will come and check the signal levels at the venue in advance. This allows them to ensure there is sufficient connection strength available for mobile broadband or if the venue has internet, that it is fast enough.

There are countless other reasons to livestream your wedding but I’m sure that you will have your own reasons for wanting to, it’s our job to help walk you through the process.
